Smoke inhalation is the major cause of death in fire situation in buildings. Non – fire rated ductwork system can be responsible for allowing the initial spread of fire between the compartments, and by allowing the rapid spread of smoke. Under normal circumstance fire spread throughout the building Is controlled by compartmentation using fire dampers however under certain circumstances it should not be used and the ductwork itself must provide the same levels of fire resistance as that provided by the compartment wall or floor.

“SASCO Fire Rated Ductwork (SFRD)” system is a non coated fire rated duct work system , designed especially for ventilation fire rated ductwork and pressurization ductwork. “FIRESAFE” fire duct is constructed from galvanized sheet steel manufactured to the SMACNA standard with a special construction features to withstand the exposure to fire condition for up to 2 hours and 4 hours . For larger sizes , the ductwork is fabricated in sections and installed in site using the tested gasket and sealant.
